Privacy
hashspan.dev sets no cookies and does not collect personal data. This page lists the little that is processed, and why.
- no cookiesThe site sets no cookies.
- no accountsThere is nothing to sign up for.
- no trackingNo ad networks, no cross-site tracking, no fingerprinting.
Analytics
The site currently runs no analytics. If that changes, it will be a cookie-free service that counts aggregate page views without identifying visitors, and this page will name it.
Theme preference
If you switch between dark and light, the choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the key starlight-theme, so the next page remembers it. It never leaves your device.
Search
Search runs in your browser against a static index downloaded from this site. Queries are not sent anywhere.
Comments
Comments on blog posts use giscus and are stored as GitHub Discussions. The comment box loads from giscus.app when you scroll to it. Commenting requires signing in with GitHub, and GitHub's privacy statement applies to that data.
Avatars
The About and Community pages and blog author boxes show GitHub profile pictures, which your browser loads from avatars.githubusercontent.com. GitHub receives that request.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes standard request data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect against abuse.
The library itself
The hashspan packages send no telemetry to the project. Spans go only to the OpenTelemetry backend you configure, and calldata arguments and error messages are recorded only if you opt in.
